Are you feeling overwhelmed, confused or like you need a boost in your parenting confidence?

god centered mom podcast mothering

About a year ago, I began listening to the God Centered Mom podcast. In an effort to maximize some driving and dishwashing time, I listened to my first episode. I fell in love with the interviews and discussions Heather MacFadyen led, and in no time at all, I had listened to all of the podcasts for that year!

Soon after that, I listened to Heather engage in a heart to heart conversation with Jim & Lynne Jackson. Heather asked some of the exact some questions I wanted to ask, she struggled with some of the same things I was as a mom, and Jim and Lynne’s answers were so in tune with my heart’s desire and ideal parenting style that I had to stop listening to the podcast while I was doing another task and instead sit down and write notes on everything I was learning and desperately wanting to implement as a mom!

I used the phrases I was learning from Jim & Lynne every day and not only did I get better results with my kids but I felt like a better mom.

I felt like I had more control and I felt confident in how to approach the situations I needed to handle. There were a lot of situations I did not know how to mediate, but knowing that I was learning to mediate even just one scenario at a time, was helpful.

discipline that connects

Last week I finally set down and visited Jim & Lynn Jackson’s website. As I was navigating the site, I noticed they are starting up a new Discipline that Connects with Your Child’s Heart Online Course next week. When I saw the price tag, I decided I’d see what else I could find on the site that could help my family. While it is a good deal for 6 weeks of learning, I wasn’t convinced yet, to spend almost $100.

After some more searching I found a FREE ebook titled Conesquences That Actually Work. The title sounded convincing to me—something that I thought I needed and would be helpful. I immediately printed the ebook and read it. I loved the examples provided by Jim and Lynne. I need practical applications in order to understand and implement strategies, and they gave me exactly that!

I also downloaded the FREE ebook When Your Child Misbehaves. This was an overview of their new book, Discipline that Connects with Your Child’s Heart. Jim & Lynne wrote the book as if they were talking to the reader, not writing for the reader. I loved how they cited Bible verses for many of their reasonings in dealing with your children. Here is on of my favorites:

“Empathy is about putting ourselves in our kids’ shoes, and feeling what it’s like to be them. (Hmm. Sounds like what Jesus did for us. Hebrews 4:15)”

As I noted earlier, I am one who learns by example. I need to hear specific stories in order to understand and implement strategies and consequences with my own children. Jim & Lynne shared a story about a defiant teen who would get away with lying and skipping school. I was motivated by Jim’s action point, as he said to the teen:

“Imagine what might happen if you used some of those talents in ways that were more helpful to you and others, and less trouble!”

Needless to say, after reading these two free downloads, I was sold on the idea that Jim & Lynn’s content could help our family connect more and grow together to be more like Christ.

I decided to invest in the course right away.

The course is $95. It sounds like a lot of money, but that calculates to less than $16/week!

And you have LIFETIME access to the content. You can go back and watch the course videos again, and again, and again as your children grow older and you reach new life stages. We plan to use their ideas for the long-haul!

If $95 isn’t in your budget, need-based options are available from $48 or less!

discipline that connects

The course launches on Monday, October 17, 2016 and ends on December 19, 2016. During this time the course will be moderated by Stacy and we will receive weekly emails to remind us to look at each week’s content and to help us stay in touch with the course moderator and other course attendees.

It is not my goal to sell the course to you. I simply want everyone who might need it to know about it. Often in life I have felt like I needed help in different areas, but didn’t know where to go (or didn’t know help was available). There is one thing I know for sure, because I have been told it by several mentors repeatedly—

You will never regret investing time or money in parenting.

If you are feeling overwhelmed, confused, or like you just need a little boost in your parenting confidence, I invite you to take this step with me.

Please let me know in the comments below or by private message. If there is interest, I would love to set up and moderate a private facebook group for us to stay connected as we take the course together.
