FREE Events at Garden Spot Village in January

Garden Spot Village will host the following events on its campus at 433 S. Kinzer Ave., New Holland, Pa.
Events are free unless otherwise noted.

Jan. 2 — POV (Point of View) documentary film and discussion series meets in the Garden Towers classroom
from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. This month’s program features Salt, a photographer’s vision of South Australia’s
remote Lake Eyre and its salt flats. Call 717-355-6000 or email info@gardenspotvillage.org.

Jan. 9 — In the Beginning…We Misunderstood-Part 1 features a presentation by Dr. John Soden, professor
at Lancaster Bible College and co-author of In the Beginning…We Misunderstood: Interpreting Genesis 1 in Its
Original Context. Meets at 7 p.m. in the chapel. Call 717-355-6203 or email cyoder@gardenspotvillage.or

Jan. 10 — Low Vision Support Group meets from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Garden South Conference Room. The
group coordinates with the National Macular Degeneration Support Group and welcomes participants with any
type of visual loss. Heidi Beth Wert of SAGE Vision will demonstrate the latest vision technology for the visually

Jan. 14 — Alzheimer’s Caregiver’s Support Group meets from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. in the Concord Room. The
group provides support, information and educations for persons providing caregiving to individuals with significant
memory loss. Lauren Graber, director of wellness at Garden Spot Village, will give a presentation on “Keeping

available during the group. Contact Adult Day Services at 717-355-6226.

Jan. 16 — In the Beginning…We Misunderstood-Part 2 features an interactive discussion led by Dr. John Soden,
professor at Lancaster Bible College and co-author of In the Beginning…We Misunderstood: Interpreting Genesis 1

Jan. 19— Saturday Evening Concert Series continues with Larry McKenna’s “New Voices Cabaret” at 7 p.m. in
the chapel. Donations accepted at the door. Call 717-355-6000 or email info@gardenspotvillage.org.

Jan. 21 — Health Care & End of Life: Dealing with Tough Questions addresses the faith perspective with a
presentation by Dr. Kenneth Miller, a theologian and ethicist. Meets at 7 p.m. in the chapel. Call 717-355-6159 or
email cyoder@gardenspotvillage.org.

Jan. 23 — Look & Learn introduces participants to life at Garden Spot Village. Check-in at 10 a.m. followed by a
presentation at 10:30, then lunch and resident-led tours. Register online at www.gsvlookandlearn.org. For questions,

Jan. 28 — Parkinson’s Support Group will meet from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m., with exercise starting at 1:45 p.m., in
the Board Room at Garden Spot Village. This month, participate in a pilot class for Dance with Parkinson’s. For

Jan. 28 — Health Care & End of Life: Dealing with Tough Questions addresses the medical perspective with a
presentation by Dr. Theresa Walls, who will address medical questions related to end-of-life decisions. Meets at 7
p.m. in the chapel. Call 717-355-6159 or email cyoder@gardenspotvillage.org.
