Recently, I’ve been enjoying trying new things. Specifically, home decor and furnishings – something I never thought I would be good at! But I have been loving it. It could possibly also partly be due to the fact that I have also recently become obsessed with Chip & Joanna Gaines HGTV show, Fixer Upper!
I probably have too frugal of a mentality, and thus would find it hard to try some new things that I think I might just end up destroying. However, I have been receiving $10 off of a $10 purchase Kmart rewards emails for the past few weeks. Is anyone else receiving these Kmart offers? Because, they are amazing! I love finding stuff for $10 – like 2 cans of spray paint for $4.99 each, and having my total ring up to FREE!! The cashier often gives me a weird stare. 🙂
I decided to act on some of my new passions and purchase some spray paint. First I spray painted a frame, and then an end table, and most recently this chair! I learned a lot with each piece and I think I am finally getting the hang of it. I am absolutely loving the color and the smooth finish. It makes me so happy to look at it!
By the way, this chair only took one can of spray paint. I used Rust-Oleum Painter’s Touch 2X Satin Lagoon. I’ll be painting some photo frames white with the Rust-Oleum American Accents Semi-Gloss White that I also bought.
In case you are wondering, my kids broke off the missing piece and I have yet to find it. But I know I will! I actually started painting the chair, assuming it wouldn’t be the right color or look right, but then was surprisingly amazed at the results so I just kept on going. Now I am definitely determined to find that piece, glue it in and paint it! I do have another matching chair that I will be painting as well.
