What I Found at the JBF Lancaster Kids Consignment Sale Today

I had the unique and rare opportunity of a day to myself. You don’t realize how wonderful those days are until you have multiple kids and suddenly are made aware of your desperate need for alone time and a quiet house!

It might sound crazy to say it this way but it felt like a life-changing experience! I had silence and time to reflect on our family’s health and needs. I prepared for summer break and brainstormed plans to not only survive with my kids home from school, but to thrive and enjoy it! And I got some needed shopping done to make sure all my families summer needs were provided for.

In order to prepare for our summer, I made a list of birthday parties and weddings we will be attending, considered summer events like camps and swim lessons, and got excited about our summer learning adventures and how I plan to equip my children with the resources they need to thrive. (P.S. I just listened to an amazing podcast about thriving with your kids!)

Then I did one of my favorite things. I went shopping.

Well, not really one of my favorite things. Honestly, I usually hate shopping. But when it comes to the JBF Lancaster Kids Consignment Sale and finding the amazing deals I am able to score—I fall madly in love!

Have you checked out the JBF Lancaster consignment sale? The sale is this week only, April 20-22, 2017. The pre-sale started today, and the sale opens to public tomorrow at 9am. It is held at the Lanco Fieldhouse in East Petersburg.

Summer Birthday Parties

My nephew loves anything and everything about dinosaurs. I was thrilled to find all of these dinosaur items at the sale for less than $10! He is going to love the variety of dinosaur activities, books and toys in his gift bag!

Summer Weddings

We have a wedding to attend this summer! I am so excited. I love getting the kids dressed up and taking advantage of the photo opportunities. When I can, I like to color coordinate our outfits, but I can often find that stressful if I try to shop last minute at a store. I love the variety of clothing and colors at the JBF Lancaster sale—and the prices too! These outfits came to $25.

Summer Outings

We have our kids signed up for soccer camp and the swim team this summer. Our schedule is going to be full—but fun! I wasn’t planning on getting a big tote to keep everything for our outings in, but when I saw this Thirty-One bag at the sale for only $10, I couldn’t resist. I’m so excited to keep our water bottles, towels, clothes, goggles, snacks and sunscreen—all in one spot and easily accessible. I have high hopes for staying very organized this summer.

Summer Learning

If you know me, you know I love to learn with my kids. While I would love to homeschool full time, I think I’m finding that my personality really needs time away from my kids. But if I send them to school during the school year, that doesn’t mean I can’t maximize our learning opportunities together over the summer break.

These Illustrated Dictionary, Bug Dictionary, Discovering Nature and Funky Things to Draw books will help us enjoy learning together. And I can never resist a Max Lucado book when I see one! I scored each book for $2 or less!
