My Completely Honest Review of Tiny Town in Lancaster

I received free admission to Tiny Town to write this post, but all thoughts and opinions are my own.

What is Tiny Town?

Tiny Town is an indoor playspace for children near Lancaster city. Made up of luxury playhouses, kids will go wild with imagination! Putting a fire out at the fire station, doing makeup in the salon, shopping in the market, driving the pedal cars, dancing up on stage and so much more!

Our Experience

I was really worried we might arrive and they would go wild and reckless with the things. I am happy to report that I was pleasantly surprised. The first thing they did was sit down in the cafe and enjoy a little meal together. My 3 year old even put the ketchup back in the place holder on the table just where he got it. They were careful with everything and acted like little adults. I think it was great for them to have this experience!

I also wasn’t sure there would be enough to do for two hours or if it would keep them occupied the whole time. Let’s face it—at home, it often feels like my 3-year-old does something for 15 minutes and then moves on.

Well, that wasn’t a concern at all!! Once they got started playing and interacting with other kids I didn’t really see them much at all for the full two hours! There was so much to do and for them to enjoy.

The hair salon was absolutely adorable—even equipped with mini brushes, hair dryers, and styling tools! I loved the personal touches in each space. My daughter’s favorite part of the salon was that you could raise and lower the salon chairs.

Even if they would have needed me or gotten bored, I could have easily sat down with them and looked at a book in the library. I loved the collection of books and how they were displayed. The comfy sitting areas made it very appealing for me to join them and snuggle up with a good story.

At home we often have occurrences of sibling rivalry so I will admit I was a little worried about that too. But here’s the deal—there is so much space and so much going on that they don’t have the chance for it. There was one instance where I saw my 3 and 5 year old have a little ‘moment’ of frustration with each other. As I watched from a distance, I saw them resolve it and move on to something else exciting. So wonderful!

The kids favorite was probably the post office and being a mailman.

Each little house or business has a mailbox that they could open and take the letters back and forth from the post office. My kids took that over right away and thrived at it!

Who should visit Tiny Town?

Tiny Town would make an excellent location for a birthday party of any age! The sitting area could easily feed a group of children some birthday treats and provide for a gift-opening area. Then they could all play their heart out!

It would also make a convenient location for a small group meet-up. A perfect place for moms to get together and chat—kids won’t need your help like they might at a playground. Honestly, it could even be a family get-together or reunion—especially if you have a lot of little kids.

Even moms of infants can plan to visit and have an enjoyable time. There is ample couch space for nursing and a designated infant area with a gate for little crawlers.

Tiny Town Camps

If you are a work-at-home-mom, you may also want to check out the Tiny Town camps. They offer 6 unique camp choices for ages 3–5, 6–8, and 9–11. Cost is $130 for ages 3-8 and $150 for ages 9-11.

Camps run from 9am-12pm, Monday–Friday. Pick one or join them for all 10 weeks! Every day, each age group will enjoy similar projects, geared toward their developmental abilities, and will also have free open play in our town.

Older children will have dedicated time in our Tween Town — with more age appropriate activities. Drop your child(ren) off, or stay and enjoy the café area.

If your child is not toilet trained, they ask that you stay at Tiny Town to help with your child’s diapering needs.

Included in the camp cost is a morning snack and one free afternoon play pass for everyone in your family!

What does Tiny Town cost?

Families with two working parents are probably going to find the place more affordable than a stay-at-home-mom. Cost is $10 per child and $8 per adult.

For work-at-home-moms with young kids I think the family membership at $117 for 3 months is something to consider, especially if you compare it to a gym membership for the summer or another season pass like Dutch Wonderland or Cherry Crest Farm, most of which will cost several hundred dollars for a family.
