If you are like me, you’re still trying to decide what you want to do and how you want to celebrate. Let this guide help you! There are several FREE things to do as a mom in Lancaster County this Mother’s Day—whether you prefer a formal brunch, time with your kids or a FREE grilled cheese donut!
FREE Things To Do
Hershey Gardens — All moms receive FREE admission on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Bring mom to enjoy spring! Be sure to stop by the Education Center in The Children’s Garden for the rhododendron and azalea display, provided by the Susquehanna Chapter of the American Rhododendron Society.
Hershey Story Museum — All moms receive FREE admission to the Museum Experience. Open from 9am to 5pm.
AACA Museum — Mothers receive complimentary admission!
Scoops Ice Cream (Mountville) — FREE ice cream to anyone.
Sweet Frog — FREE 12 ounce yogurt creation up to four dollars in value for every mom who comes in with a child customer. We hope to serve you then! THIS HAS NOT YET BEEN VERIFIED FOR 2019.
Herb & Garden Faire at Landis Valley — Landis Valley is transformed into a gardener’s paradise at this annual sale. With more than 80 vendors of heirlooms, natives, and other hard-to-find varieties as well as herbal skin care products, garden art, and jewelry spread out over the historic village area of the site, it’s a delightful shopping experience that’s quickly becoming a Mother’s Day weekend tradition. Visitors can also grab a bite from our food vendors, listen to beautiful music, or tour gardens run by the museum’s Heirloom Seed Project. Please, no pets allowed.
Mill Creek Fishing Derby — Give mom the day off on Saturday and have the dads take the kids fishing! 7am – 12pm at the Mill Creek Sportsmen’s Association Inc, 1877 Windy Hill Rd, Lancaster, PA 17602. This is FREE and open to the public. Ages 4 to 14 may test their fishing skills to catch the BIG ONE! Prizes and Fun! All are welcome – lunch provided to kids for FREE and by donation for adults.
The North Museum — Moms receive FREE admission, complimentary coffee and pastries and a 20% off coupon to the gift shop!
Refreshing Mountain — Moms fly free on their zipline course on Mother’s Day. You must make reservations by phone and cannot use any other coupons for other flying participants.
The National Civil War Museum — Moms receive complimentary admission. Enjoy beautiful views of Dauphin County!
FREE Potted Flower Mother’s Day Craft — The Grocery Outlet in New Holland is offering this on Saturday, May 5 from 10am-1pm. Kids can come to decorate and plant a potted flower for Mother’s Day from 10am-1pm. Spin the Wheel of Bargains will also be taking place during this time!
