Get To Know Your Town Calendar {FREE Printable}

I absolutely love finding affordable, family-friendly things to do with my family in Lancaster County. Whether its attending library events, enjoying a street fair, using your free bowling passes or visiting a National Park on free entry day—there are always free and affordable events to be found!

I get so excited about it that I want to help others discover new ways to interact with their community too. Which is why I came up with this idea—a FREE printable calendar (with hyperlinks) that helps anyone discover new ways to get to know their town!

On the August 2017 Calendar you’ll find specific ideas to connect with your community in the month of August. The ideas are ones that apply to anywhere in the continental United States, such as:

:: Take part in a local “Water Fun” or “Splash Day”
:: Find a “FREE Backpacks for Kids” Event
:: Enjoy a Concert in the Park

:: Visit a Coffee Shop with LIVE music
:: Eat dinner out where kids eat FREE
:: Watch the 1st total solar eclipse for the continental US in 38 years!

For those of you who live in Lancaster County, many of the hyperlinks connect you directly to local events. You’ll also find freebies on the list, reminding you when local businesses offer freebies to celebrate things like National Ice Cream Day, National Coffee Day or the First Day of Spring!

For those of you who don’t live in Lancaster County, there are links to nation-wide program offers like how to obtain free roller skating passes for your kids, and you’ll also find freebies on the list, helping you locate businesses that offer freebies on days like National Ice Cream Day, National Coffee Day or the First Day of Spring! You can also get an idea of what might be happening in your town based on what you find happening in Lancaster!

Here are some other things to do on a budget this August:

:: Use this discount code to save $5 off admission to the Crayola Experience (can be used for any location, expires 8/30/17)!
:: Shop for your back-to-school supplies on a budget!
:: Grab the best water squirters at the Dollar Tree and have a backyard water battle!
:: Get your kids a unique activity kit for just $9.95 before the summer ends!
:: Use your Entertainment Book coupons (they are just $5 right now!)

Do you love engaging with your town and getting to know your community? I’d love to know what fun, free things you enjoy doing where you live. Share them with me know in the comments below!
