20+ Local Businesses Offering To Go Activities and Kits for Kids

Did you know that many local businesses are offering TO GO at-home activities and kits for kids right now? What a great way to provide something new and exciting for the kiddos, yet also support local Lancaster County business during this unprecedented time!

I spent a couple of hours researching these kits (because I kept finding more and more). In fact, I found so many that I made a separate post for 10+ Take Home Pizza Kits in Lancaster County and To-Go Kits for Teens & Adults in Lancaster County.

I was surprised to find at-home kits for everything from ice cream sundaes, to cookie decorating, to cross-stitch and soap making, to princess care packages and pottery painting. I hope you enjoy this list of at-home kit ideas in Lancaster.

At-Home Activity Kits for Kids

Lickety Split (New Holland) – Offering an ice cream sundae kit for families. Choose from a “Jiminy & Hope Kit” or “Nuts about New Holland & Chocolate Kit”, each $15.99 and include 2 pints of ice cream plus lots of toppings! Check out the details for each kit. Plus they have great take-out food options to go along with the kits. Call (717) 354-4986.

Son’s (East Petersburg) – Offering kids quarantine survival kits. The kids kit features all the yummy things to create a sundae. Watch their page because they offer new varieties regularly but sell out quickly. Call when you arrive and they bring your order to your car! This Dirt Sundae kit was offered on April 7 just to give you an idea of what they are like.

Lancaster Cupcake – Offering to-go at home decorating kits. Different themes are available including spring, mermaid and sports. They are $26 each and available for pickup or delivery. Details on their website.

Pottery Works (Lancaster) – Have pottery delivered to your home to paint. Select pottery and 4 colors will be delivered within 10 miles, along with brushes, pallets and paint. They will pick up! Curbside pickup is available Monday-Friday from 10am-2pm (guaranteed). Check their Facebook page for photos of ceramic options.

Jen’s Pottery Den – Art Survival Kits To Go are being offered by Jen’s Pottery Den. They have a really neat virtual store Order form that makes it easy to choose a wide variety of items and see the prices immediately, however you can’t see a photo of the actual product—you’ll need to check their Facebook page for some of those. My personal favorite are the paint-your-own succulent potters (as shown above). They also offer paint-your-own canvas options.

Jen’s Pottery Den occasionally offers half-off deals, so be sure to watch for those too. But please spend at least $10 more than the deal value when you contact Jen’s, to help support their business right now. Thank you!

Auntie Anne’s – You can get a DIY-At-Home-Pretzel Kit for $20. Each kit includes all of the ingredients and a recipe to make 10 freshly baked pretzels, just add butter. If you order your kit by Monday, April 20 it will arrive in time for National Pretzel Day on April 26th. You can also use DoorDash to order fresh hot pretzels and nuggets delivered to your door.

Laura the Cookie Lady (Ephrata) – Each week her kits go on sale on Thursdays at 2pm. They sell out in about thirty minutes! Pick ups for kits will be on Saturday between 1pm-2pm. I’ll confess, I sometimes order them and keep them hidden until a rainy day, or I’m desperate for something for them to do. 🤷‍♀️We love receiving Kiwi kits whether we get the STEM kits for my boys or Doodle kits for my daughter. They have crates for all ages (literally from baby to adult). Our favorite crates have been make-your-own-headphones, pinball, spin art, make-your-own-succulents, make-your-own booklets, and of course the make-your-own robot kit!!
