WeeUsables Consignment Sale: March 21-23, 2013

WeeUsables, Lancaster’s largest consignment event, provides a venue for parents to both make and save money on quality used items for their children every spring and fall. The next spring/summer event will be held at the Lancaster Host Resort’s Expo Center on March 21-23, 2013. The “Stuff-A-Bag for $10” portion of the event will be on March 23 from 4:00-5:00 pm, and will benefit the Sweet Pea Project, a local organization that supports bereaved parents.

The public is invited to shop in the 26,000 sq. ft. facility for three days. Many families have come to rely on WeeUsables as a place to find necessities for their children, often finding piles of bargains. WeeUsables has accepted 500 consignors for this event, more than ever before, so there will also be more merchandise and more clothing racks to peruse. WeeUsables also plans to add more check-out stations in effort to make it a more efficient process. More than 3,600 shoppers attended the fall 2012 WeeUsables event, and even more are expected for the spring event.

WeeUsables Consignors register prior to the event and use an online tagging system to price everything they want to sell, from clothing and shoes to toys, games, and baby gear. They print and attach tags to all their items, then drop them off at the Expo Center before the sale is open to shoppers. Consignors can choose to pick up their unsold items at the end of the event or have them donated. Within two weeks, consignors receive their checks for 70% of their sales (or more if they volunteer to work during the event).

Dozens of volunteers work together to make WeeUsables a success. In exchange for their time, WeeUsables allows volunteers to shop before the regular and half-price sales are open to the public. Early shopping is an advantageous and often coveted benefit. Just after the volunteer pre-sale comes the consignor pre-sale and the new mom/grandparent presale (for those who registered online before the event).

Lancaster WeeUsables Hours:
March 20 3-4pm – Volunteer shopping; 4-8pm – Consignor shopping; 5-8pm – New Mom/Grandparent shopping
March 21 8am-12pm & 4-8pm – Public Sale
March 22 8am-8pm – Public Sale; 5-7pm – Kids’ Fun Night
March 23 8-11am – Half-Off Event (most items 50% off)
4-5pm – Stuff-A-Bag Event (benefiting The Sweet Pea Project)

Event Location: Lancaster Host Resort’s Expo Center, 2300 Lincoln Highway East, Lancaster, PA 17602
